January 30th; conception -- done

We have known since February 11, 2011 that we are expecting. I am writing this blog on the 12th knowing I am not allowed to post until two months from now when the baby is officially safe in this world. That doesnt mean I cant write about it now!!! We have been trying to have a baby since Kristas wedding on 12/11/10. We are getting married soon, we are looking forward to having a LARGE family, and it just feels right to start our family now. We had planned on trying until March or April when we would stop as we wanted the baby to be at least a few months old for the wedding. Kerry was in Hawaii and CA for most of January, but I guess God, or whoever or whatever you believe in, was ready for us to be parents. We sure are ready!

I told Ker about it at our Valentines dinner at the Culinary Institute at Southern NH University. We both cried, were amazed, shared our story with all the wait staff there, and called family and close friends.

So now that we are one month in, here is how I am feeling….

I am nauseated. I thought I was just eating the wrong things (um, a mozzarella ball and a dry oatmeal wheat pancake for lunch anyone?) but turns out this is related to pregnancy. My dogs smell AWFUL, despite being fine a few weeks ago. Infact I took on the feat yesterday of washing all three of them in our tub; not an easy task. Last night after dinner I smelled each one and they STILL stink. Must be pregnancy. Also Im bloated and my boobs hurt; but that may be too much information for most readers :)

We started reading "What to Expect When You're Expecting" together last night and plan to revisit this resource each week before bed. Our baby is the size of a poppy seed right now.

We think we are having a girl. I wont disclose why I think so; go ahead and google "how to have a gender specific baby" and you will see why we think so. We didnt try for either, but hindsight is 20/20
